My aunt Jennifer got the kids some adorable wintery outfits, so I knew they had to wear them for our family pictures! The only problem was that Ryan and I had nothing that really matched, and none of my pants fit except my crazy printed leggings. We had a busy week last week, and of course I waited till the last minute to do something about our clothing issue. Friday night we were coming home from seeing Recycled Percussion at Miller Outdoor Theater and I made a late night Target stop. We had taken two cars, so Ryan took the sleeping kiddos home while I wandered around Target thinking to myself, "What would my sisters pick for us?" They're kind of my fashion gurus, and I am not!
I ran out of space on my phone to take pictures of clothing options to send to my sisters/friends, so I was totally on my own! I walked out of Target with a dozen options for Ryan(because I had no idea what was going to fit him or look good) and a couple for me.
Target didn't have any pants I liked, and Old Navy was closed. I found some spanxs deep within my dresser and SQUEEZED into a pair of pre-pregnancy pants that were pretty stretchy and were starting to get baggy on me before I got pregnant. I only got one leg in my other pair of jeans, so I knew that wasn't happening!
I made Ryan try everything on at almost midnight and we found a combo we liked. It even matched an outfit Callum had already, so we brought both outfits for him. Alarm clocks went off early Saturday morning. Ryan hopped in the shower as I said "Five more minutes!" and tried to go back to sleep. Of course, Rylee woke up right after that. While Ryan leisurely showered, I changed diapers, got Rylee dressed, strapped on my hands free pumping bra, nursed Callum and pumped at the same time(he had slept so well I hadn't nursed him on one side for 7 hours!). The hubs finally emerged from the bathroom and I jumped in the shower, blow dried my hair, and put on makeup in the car. At 8:15, we were at Town Center to meet our photographer. She was awesome! She had already scoped the places out that she wanted to take pictures, she kept Rylee's attention, and helped us arrange ourselves.

| I can never decide what to do about Rylee's hair. She only lets me do pig tails every once in awhile, but I couldn't find rubberbands Saturday morning. I decided to just let her hair do her thing! Before too long I know she'll have thick, long locks and I'll miss her baby mullet! |
| These two! I love how much fun they have together. |
Poor Callum, I undressed him to change his outfits outside in the brisk morning air. He was a great sport about it, and mostly slept through our shoot. Rylee was a little shy at first, but warmed up towards the end and we couldn't get her to sit still.

I love the pictures we got! Comment below on your favorite to help me decide which ones I want to get on a big canvas!
So grateful for my beautiful, healthy, happy children and a loving husband.
I really love them all. If I had to pick one of my favorites is the one with Ashley hugging you guys and Callum being super relaxed.
ReplyDeletemy favorite is the one you have at the top of this blog article.
ReplyDeleteUm, I LOVE them ALL! I especially love the ones of Ryan & Rylee together, makes me want to find a photographer asap and get some cute ones of Chris & Emma together. And, now I miss you guys a ton and wish you were still here so we would have a good excuse to get a huge tub of popcorn at the movies sometime!
