I made Rylee's first pair of sandals! Not perfect, and they were a lot harder than the little Mary Jane shoes I made her. But I still think they look cute if you don't look at them too closely! The faux leather I had was really hard to work with because it stretched weirdly and was hard to keep the pieces aligned and straight. And the binding around the outer edge of the shoe was way too difficult for me(which is why it doesn't looks so pretty).
Here's the tutorial I used. She has a boy sandal tutorial too!

I also had to share this. I grabbed a bunch of books from my parents' house that were mine when I was little. Here's my very battered copy of "The Very Hungry Caterpillar."
you have totally become this super crafty mom. I'm jealous. Come back to Arkansas and make stuff for me ;)
ReplyDeleteMaybe Santa will bring you a surprise from Texas! Also, we should hopefully be making a pilgrimage up to Fayetteville sometime soonish!
